Mekanex is a Swedish owned group of companies that is one of the leading suppliers of high-quality machine elements and linear guideways for the manufacturing industry around the Baltic Sea. It all started in Sweden in the early 1960’s, and in 1985 our Finnish company Oy Mekanex Ab was established in Lohja, Finland. Since then, we have supported the Finnish industry with well proven mechanical solutions for automation and manufacturing. Year 2005, our Estonian branch was established in Tallin and our Tallin office is serving all Baltic countries. This means that next year we will celebrate 40 years in Finland and 20 years in Estonia and this we will try to highlight in a few different ways. One is by starting to distribute this newsletter. Our ambition is to send this out 4 times per year and inform our customer about what is going on in Mekanex. We will present product news and interesting applications as well as introducing our staff.
Since a couple of years, we have a new owner and for 3 years we have a new Country Manager for Finland and the Baltics, Mr. Arto Oikarinen. Arto is maybe well known to many of you as he has a long history in our industry and especially in Finland. He started his career in SKS Mekaniikka Oy nearly 30 years ago. From there he moved on to SKS Tohmac Oy and later to Lönne Scandinavia Oy and Brammer Oy where he held several positions, serving as Managing Director during his final three years with them. Please read the interview with Arto in this newsletter to learn more about him.
In this issue we will also focus on some of our major product groups, the first one being bevel gearboxes. We have an extensive range of bevelgearboxes from small ones that will only take a few newtonmetres in torque up to nearly 2500 Nm, this means shaft diameters from 6 to 60 mm. We have several quality levels depending on your application. Our European suppliers are also very flexible and willing to discuss customisations. Please contact one of our qualified sales engineers to discuss your application and find the most suitable gearbox for your case.
The second product category that we will present in this issue is our range of trapezoidal screws. We stock diameter 10-60 mm in both left- and right-hand thread in normal steel type C45 and stainless steel type ASTM 316L (DIN 1.4404). Also, in this product range we are used to make customisations according to your drawings.
I would also like to take the opportunity to inform you that we are changing bank in Finland from Swedbank to Aktia Bank and therefore we would like you to pay attention to where you send your payments in the future. If there are any uncertainties, please feel free to contact your normal contact person in Mekanex.
I hope you will enjoy the content of this issue!
